2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA Order Guide with Option Prices Hits

Mercedes-Benz CLA
The next big -or shall we say, small- thing coming from Mercedes-Benz to a showroom near you in the United States is the brand's entry in the compact sedan market, the new CLA. We've seen the car multiple times and even know the available engines on both sides of the Atlantic as well as it's starting price in Germany - €28,977 or US$39,400 at today's exchange rates for the 120hp 1.6-liter turbo'd CLA 180. Mercedes-Benz has said it will announce U.S. pricing closer to its launch date this fall, though, we've heard it will start somewhere around $30,000. Now, the brand with the star has released a preliminary option guide for the U.S. market CLA and it somehow fell into the hands of the folks over at the CLAForums. In it, we find some interesting details about the available options and estimated prices, but unfortunately, not the MSRPs, which are listed as "TBA", an acronym for "To Be Announced". At launch, Mercedes USA will offer two basic models: the front wheel drive CLA 250 and the all-wheel drive CLA 250 4MATIC, both featuring a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four with 208hp and 258 lb-ft under their hood, connected to a 7-speed dual clutch automatic transmission. As with all modern Mercedes models, the CLA will be packed with safety features such as 7 air-bags, ESP, ABD, BAS, ASR, Adaptive Brake with Hold function, Collision Prevention Assist and Attention Assist. Buyers will have the option of a Sport Package featuring an AMG bodykit with aggressively styled bumpers, a different grille insert, 18-inch AMG wheels and larger brakes with perforated front discs, priced at $2,000. There's also the $2,200 Premium package with a variety of goods, such as a garage opener, compass, SiriusXM Satelite radio, a Harman/Kardon sound system and heated seats, the $2,300 Mulitmedia Package, the $2,250 Driver Assistance Package and a number of standalone options, including the "Panorama Sunroof" priced at $1,480, leather upholstery at $1,200 and Bi-Xenon headlamps for $850. In the optional packages, we also noticed that Mercedes mentions the CLA 45 AMG, which is likely to follow next year. The sportiest edition of the series will feature a 2.0-liter turbocharged four rated at 350-horsepower and 332 lb-ft (450Nm) coupled to a 7-speed dual clutch transmission and standard all-wheel drive.
